Our very first official GKONOMICS video produced in 2011 featured our very first GKONOMIST, Dino Pineda, who set up a garments sewing enterprise in GK Pandi, Bulacan, and our very first Gawad Kalinga community-based enterprise in GK Sunshineville, Las Pinas producing upcycled doy products.

Happy Helpers is a social enterprise based in GK Pinagsama, Taguig that provides cleaning services.
They work with many residents of the disadvantaged communities in the area and they have been implementing an empowerment program to ensure the transformative impact of their social business on their community partners.
Founded by Maan Sicam and Jo Bernardo-Endaya in 2015, Happy Helpers is not just cleaning homes, they are transforming communities through women empowerment. They represent a great example for other social enterprises to follow.

Alecsandra Ghita was part of the SAP Sabbatical Program. Together with two other established IT professionals, Rui Sosa and April Leng, they spent two months in the Philippines in 2016 working on projects that helped improve the work of GKONOMICS.
GKONOMICS has worked with many AISEC international volunteers over the years and they have been instrumental in a number of significant developments in GKONOMICS' work.
