To help the poor through social entrepreneurship.
A productive and caring FIlipino citizenry
We are a matchmaker connecting disadvantaged communities with committed entrepreneurs, partners, and investors.
ATBP Co is the result of GKONOMICS early years working with disadvantaged communities to sustain the work started by Gawad Kalinga.
ATBP Co was started in 2016 by GKONOMICS Co-Founder and CFO PInky Poe, in response to an urgent, critical, but unmet, need of social enterprises – someone who could perform the functions many entrepreneurs considered to be their “at iba pa”, always seemingly unimportant and low on the priority list, but somehow always ending up as very costly business mistakes.
Where is that accounting firm that would understand their special needs and circumstances, that could provide quality services at prices they could afford?
The mission of ATBP Co is to provide accessible and professional accounting, tax, and business process services specialized to the needs of social enterprises, and develop tools, frameworks and benchmarks that will raise financial literacy levels among social enterprises to help them attain sustainability and growth, and enable them to continue uplifting their beneficiaries.
With its initial work of developing social enterprises with poor communities, GKONOMICS understands that the only way to break the cycle of poverty is to equip and empower the poor and the way to do it is though education. Thus since 2014, GKONOMICS has been running a scholarship program for deserving high school graduates to allow them to pursue higher education.
GKONOMICS' flagship program is KLIK MOBILE EDUCATION, a ground-breaking education initiative that helps poor Filipino high school dropouts get out of poverty and build an economy where nobody gets left behind.
Gkonomics was founded in 2009 by a group of women who shared a vision for a prosperous Philippines where no citizen is in need. The journey has been interesting and we are now focused on two paths that we believe bring us closer to the vision.
